LETTERS FROM DADDY’S MAMA TO BURTON AND LOUISE – 1938
Here are four letters from Nina Lee Smith Harrison to her son and daughter-in-law (my Daddy, Burton and Mama, Louise) written in May and June, two to three months after I was born on 1 April 1938. I never knew my Grandmother Harrison. She died when I was two years old. The letters are faded and hard to read, but it’s worth magnifying and reading the sentiments expressed (her desire to kiss babies on the back of the neck – especially me).
I have a large cache of letters to Daddy while he was in the US Navy, mostly from his mother while she lived in Jacksonville. I will post some of them here as I have time to do so.
