MONTLAKE AND THE U-DISTRICT

Joan and Bill arrived in Seattle in the rain in November 1062, a few days before Thanksgiving. We rented a three-bedroom ranch-style house in South Seattle. The address is 7121 46th Avenue South.

We bought a home a year later. In January 1964 we moved into a two-story brick home in the Montlake District of Seattle, across the Montlake Bridge from the Southeast corner of the University of Washington. You could see the corner of the roof of the UW Husky Stadium from the dining room window on the front of the house. Here are some maps showing the exact location of 24`5 E Roanoke Street. Drive around the area when you visit Seattle.

Billy was born 9 February 1964.
