UNIVERSITY OF WASHINGTON

The University of Washington has a beautiful campus with a view of Mount Rainier. Here are some c images of the mountain and Drumheller Fountain.

My original plan was to study biomedical electronics and computer applications in medicine. The University of Washington was one of the few universities in the country that offered graduate studies in medical electronics in the early 1960s. The UW had no computer science program. Three areas at the UW were beginning to study and apply digital computers: electrical engineering, linguistics and mathematics. Boeing was in the airplane business, not into medical electrics. My position at Boeing was in controls and data instrumentation. Boeing was paying my tuition to get my masters degree. A masters in electrical engineering with a focus on digital computing was a perfect complement between education and my work at The Boeing Company.

It took six years, one course at a time. Here is the result: a Master of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering.

THESIS FOR MSEE

And here is a little book I used as an important reference while working on my thesis
