GOING TO CHURCH IN ATLANTA

Shortly after arriving in the Atlanta area, we settled on a new church home: Central Congregational Church of Atlanta (a United Church of Christ congregation). Central has been a primary source of our friendships and our spiritual experiences ever since. This page discusses our church life at Central Church.

EARLY YEARS AT CENTRAL CHURCH

Joan found Central Congregational United Church of Christ. She served three terms as Moderator. She had a commanding podium presence and a powerful speaking voice. She was service oriented and exuded confidence. She was a caring counselor and served as a Deacon many times during our decades of membership and service.

Central had relocated from the Midtown Atlanta corner of Piedmont Avenue and Ponce de Leon to a ten-acre wooded location off Clairmont Road just south of Briarcliff Road.
