BILL MET AND MARRIED NANCY WORLEY

Losing Joan left Bill a very lonely person. Seeing his awful hangdog expression, a friend asked him one evening if he had considered online dating. Horrors, NO! Scam. Predators. They want to take your money.

The misery was so bad that after a couple of weeks, he DID consider online dating. The next year of meeting women online was exactly what Bill needed to process his grief and to re-socialize as a single man. He met lots of interesting (and interested) women.

One day after months of Bill’s playing the field, Nancy showed up on the dating site. The magic word happened to be “chocolate”. They exchanged bios, talked on the phone and decided to meet for lunch. He brought her a greeting gift, a large chocolate “N”. It was love at first sight!

We puzzled about the wedding: a large public affair versus a quiet elopement. Nancy, it turned out, fit perfectly into Bill’s spiritual life and his church of forty-plus years (Central Congregational UCC) . After discussing the dilemma with our pastor, Shannon Michael Pater, we chose to have a church wedding on the Central Church Chancel during an 11:00 AM Sunday service on 25 February 2018. Our Church friends threw a big party after the ceremony to celebrate the nuptials. It could not have been finer.

Here are some pictures from the wedding, its before and its after parties.
