MARY JOAN MOORE’S GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT

Joan was born in Tampa on 30 November 1939 to parents who each came from families of 11 siblings. She had lots of cousins. All but one were older tha Joan. Her father died at Christmas-time when Joan was fives years old. She and her mother lived in Seminole Heights in north Tampa. They attended Seminole Heights Methodist Church.

Some of her long time friends grew up and attended school with Joan in the neighborhood. Martha Dredan Davis and Patricia Winters York were among them.

Joan excelled academically and socially from grade school through college. Here are her high school academic records.

Joan finished third in the Class of 1957 of 650 seniors at Hillsborough High.
